• We passed out of committee! On August 4, the Portland City Council’s Community and Public Safety Committee voted 4–1 in favor of advancing the Portland Psychedelic Health & Safety Act. This represents a major milestone for the campaign and moves the policy forward to consideration by the full City Council.
• You can review the version of the ordinance advanced by the Committee here: Chapter 14B.140 – Psychedelic Health and Safety
• Our next major step is September 23rd, when the Act is scheduled for its first reading before the full Portland City Council as it moves toward passage.
• During the committee process, Exhibit B, which would have established a public Psychedelic Advisory Commission, was removed from the ordinance through an amendment. While we are disappointed that this provision did not advance as part of the current legislation, we remain committed to building support for meaningful community participation and public guidance around psychedelic policy in Portland.

With the Act heading to the full City Council on September 23rd, every endorsement helps demonstrate the breadth of community support behind this effort.
